Early
Signs and Symptoms of Being Pregnant.
If
you think you might be pregnant, there are two things to keep in mind:
First, it is very common to have one or two signs and symptoms of being
pregnant without actually being pregnant. Second,
occasionally a
woman can be pregnant with little or no signs or symptoms until farther
along in the pregnancy. Because of these two reasons,
sexually
active women who could feasibly become pregnant may want to monitor any
signs or symptoms which could indicate pregnancy, as well as keep track
of their menstrual cycle. Because early pregnancy can even create
spotting which can be mistaken for a period, this sign of itself isn't
always conclusive, although of course it is extremely likely that it is
indicative of not being pregnant. However,
the most
conclusive way of knowing if you are pregnant is to have an Early
Pregnancy Test (EPT) at a clinic or at your doctor's office. Short of
that, home pregnancy tests are generally accurate, although the results
of one test should not always be trusted as absolute. There are no
signs or symptoms of pregnancy that are absolutely definite in the
first few weeks. In other words, each symptom can have other
explanations, and some pregnant women experience few if any of these
symtoms. But here are the primary symptoms of early
pregnancy,
including how soon they appear in the pregnancy calendar. If
you
have one or more of these early signs and symptoms of pregnancy,
consider taking a good over the counter EPT test, and perhaps a more
thorough and even more accurate test at a health clinic.
Late
Period or missed menstrual period. Of course a late or
missed menstrual period
suggests you
might be pregnant, but this sign of pregnancy can have other
explanations. Changes
in stress or diet and other causes can lead to a missed or late period,
or to
an unusually light menstrual period. In
addition, one early sign of pregnancy can be light spotting, which is
sometimes assumed to be a light menstrual period.
Nausea;
feeling nauseaus (nauseous) and sick
to your stomach any time of day or night.
Feeling nauseaus in
the morning, or any other time of the day or night can indicate you are
pregnant, but may also have other causes. Being
sick
to your stomach as a sign of
pregnancy occurs as early as two weeks after conception. Some pregnant
women never experience being nauseated or have morning sickness when
pregnant.
Darkening
or darkened nipples or dark or darker areolas. The
nipples and the area around them (the areolas) generally
become
darker when you are pregnant. The nipples becoming darker from
pregnancy usually begins as early as the first week or two after
conception, but may not be noticed for a few weeks or more.
Sore,
sensitive breasts, tingly breasts, swollen breasts and itchy breasts.
Tender and sensitive breasts can occur before a period or
during hormonal changes caused by other reasons.
it can also be indicative of being pregnant. In this case, it can occur
as early as one or two weeks after conception, and may
include itchiness and tingley breasts as well as growing and more
noticable breast blood vessels.
Back
Aches, lower back aches, headaches. Lower
back pain, backaches, and more frequent headache, can be a sign you are
pregnant. These pregnancy signs may show up as early as two
weeks
after
conception. Other possible causes for these symtoms
include mild
to moderate hormonal changes.
Fatigue,
exhaustion, low energy level.
This can be a symptom you are pregnant, but can also have other causes.
Low energy and fatigue may begin to show up as a sing of
pregnancy within 1 to 6 weeks. It is primarily
because of
high levels of the pregnancy hormone progesterone
If
you have any of these early symptoms of being pregnant, consider
taking a home pregnancy test, as well as getting a complete test done
at a professional clinic.
